Easy to take. Easy to tolerate.
DORYX® Delayed-Release Tablet is a tetracycline-class oral antibiotic indicated for adjunctive treatment of severe acne. DORYX® tablets contain specially coated pellets of doxycycline hyclate for oral dosing. DORYX® is the only enteric-coated pelletized doxycycline. In the treatment of both teenager and adult acne, DORYX® is effective, convenient and well tolerated.

DORYX® offers patients convenient once-a-day dosing any time of day, with or without food. DORYX® is available in 75 mg and 100 mg strengths, which offer greater dosing flexibility. The enteric-coated pellets enable the active drug to pass through the stomach intact and release in the small intestine. Therefore, the risk of stomach upset is significantly reduced.

DORYX® does not carry any central nervous system warnings for dizziness or vertigo. There are no precautions against driving or operating hazardous machinery while on therapy.

Important Safety Information about DORYX® Tablets
Doxycycline, like other tetracycline-class antibiotics, can cause fetal harm when administered to a pregnant woman. Tetracycline-class antibiotics used during tooth development (last half of pregnancy, infancy, and childhood to the age of 8 years) may cause permanent discoloration of teeth and should not be used unless other drugs are not likely to be effective or are contraindicated.

Patients should be advised that photosensitivity can occur with tetracycline-class drugs and that pseudomembranous colitis has been reported with nearly all antibacterial agents, and may range from mild to life-threatening.

Oral antibiotics may lessen the effectiveness of birth control pills.
